About CR
COMPUTED RADIOGRAPHY
Replaces the traditional film and cassettes with digital image plates. Instead of opening the cassette to retrieve the film and process it in a darkroom the plates are placed in a digital reader that reads the latent image information and erases the plate for the next use. Images are displayed on the reader monitor and can be edited as required before sending to PACS.
Benefits of CR
- Replaces chemistry and films and allows image processing in a daylight environment
- CR readers can be placed inside the examination room for quick access, or can be placed
centrally for shared access - Allows you to keep your investment in analog x-ray equipment (table, tube and wall bucky) while obtaining digital images
- Softcopy images can be manipulated for optimal viewing and stored on PACS.
- Reduces the need for repeat exams caused by poor exposure or lost exams
In summary,CR
- Replaces films, cassettes and film processors with digital
image plates and plate readers - Can be used with your existing radiography equipment
- Can be used in small or large imaging facilities
