"One-system" experience on a multi-vendor platform.

About Integration

Many vendors sell systems based on a “best of breed” concept by using third party products to offer a complete system. However, often they do not have the required expertise to provide INTEGRATION or integrated RIS/PACS with all the functions and modalities working smoothly.  Third party components may be minor – such as Digital Forms – or a major part of the application, like a Third Party RIS or Billing System.  It is critical that the various systems pass information in a rational and efficient manner and that launching of any required function is performed as part of a well organized workflow.  This means minimizing the amount of keystrokes and screens the user must go through in order to retrieve necessary information.

Benefits of Integration

  • Standards-based approach
  • Vendors with a proven track record of system integration using DICOM and HL7 standards
These standards are tools that iRAD vendors use to ensure proper messaging between
  • systems so that information flows seamlessly and duplication of data entry is avoided.  The user experiences “one system” with a single sign on.
  • Well integrated RIS/PACS leads to efficient workflow in the clinic.  At iRad we ensure that we understand your existing work flow and recommend required peripheral equipment to
support your new digital work flow.
  • A single point of contact is provided to iRAD’s clients.  iRAD facilitates implementation of a
multi-vendor system, including RIS/PACS and digital acquisition from CR or DR, Hardware services
    and network infrastructure.
  • There is no need for iRAD customers to worry whom they should contact when something goes
wrong, iRad is your first line of technical support and we consider it our responsibility to involve whichever vendor is required to resolve your issue.

In Summary, Integration

  • Uses standards to facilitate communication between systems and modules
  • Improves workflow as information flows seamlessly from one system or module to another
  • ncludes a single point of contact for support
