Improve efficiency, productivity and accuracy with a RIS

About RIS

RADIOLOGY INFORMATION SYSTEMS

RIS is a computerized database used by radiology departments to store, update and distribute patient radiological data and images. RIS is critical to efficient patient flow in radiology practices. At the same time it creates appropriate submissions for payment, manages collections and reconciling of accounts.

A good RIS handles all information from the moment a patient's appointment is made, through diagnostics, reporting, to inventory control, billing and collections. It makes information immediate, easy to access, easy to update and always available for those who need to know. It communicates with the PACS and updates all patient information and allows images and reports to be viewed from either system.

Benefits of RIS

  • Allows all authorized users in your facility to instantly access patient history and previous exam reports to ensure your staff has all the required information in order to perform the patient’s examination.
  • Tracks patient flow in your facility and can pinpoint bottlenecks in smooth clinic functioning.
  • Scanned documents in RIS promote a paperless environment and support remote reporting of performed exams.
  • Digital dictation provides improved sound recording and eliminates cumbersome transcription from tapes, while allowing immediate access to urgent exams.
  • Online Health Card validation provides instant feedback on the status of the health card while the submission and reconciliation wizards help minimize time for reimbursement submission and maximize collection of due accounts.
